William Maurer is a senior at the University of Connecticut. He plans to complete a major in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Business. He has been working as an intern for General Electric since the summer of 2006 and hopes to eventually devote his work to the solar energy field. This is his seventh year of involvement in model United Nations in some capacity. His previous roles with UCMUN include Chief of External Relations and both Director and Assistant Director of the Security Council. When he is not busy with UCMUN or schoolwork, William enjoys reading, camping, and strategy games such as chess.
